John Hamel, LCSW has a Masters in Social Welfare from U.C.L.A. and has conducted family violence programs in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1992. He is the editor of the journal, Partner Abuse, has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and is the author of Gender-Inclusive Treatment of Intimate Partner Abuse (Springer, 2005). He is the co-editor of Family Interventions in Domestic Violence: A Handbook of Gender-Inclusive Theory and Treatment (Springer, 2007) and editor of Intimate Partner and Family Abuse: A Casebook of Gender Inclusive Therapy (Springer, 2008). Mr. Hamel provides professional consultation, training and expert court testimony, speaks regularly on family violence, and co-chaired the historic From Ideology to Inclusion conferences.
